A business needs marketing like a fish needs water. Your business cannot survive if you don’t focus on implementing proper marketing strategies, which will help you attract new customers and keep your existing ones happy, while also building a solid reputation, both online and offline.

Even if you’re struggling to get your business up and running and cannot manage to find the needed resources to invest in marketing, here are some marketing strategies which are relatively cheap and accessible.
1. Press releases
You need to make your brand known, but can’t afford an expensive promotional campaign? Then choose to write effective press releases, which are the perfect opportunity to make your products or services instantly known to the general public and your target audience.
You will only need to study some well-drafted press releases first, or ask a PR specialist to draft it up for you. Focus on the relevant aspects of your business, by highlighting features and benefits.
2. The irreplaceable business cards
Although you may think that business has moved mostly online, business cards remain one of the most efficient marketing tools. Never leave the house without having some business cards with you, especially when you know you’ll be potential customers or business partners.
Be creative when creating your business cards, try to make them look unique, to stand out and be memorable in some way.
3. Online networking
Let’s not forget what everyone is crazy about in this day and age: that’s right, it’s social media. Have you consolidated your online presence? If not, it’s high time you do so.
Invest some time and effort in creating a professional LinkedIn profile, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and start marketing your products and promoting your brand. LinkedIn is the ideal hangout for businessmen and entrepreneurs everywhere, so be sure you join the appropriate communities and start networking with the right people in your industry.
Your Facebook brand page is next on the list. Be sure to update it on a regular basis, build a solid fan base, attract and engage your fans by posting relevant information of interest, and adding a bit of your original style into the equation. Be yourself, don’t copy anybody else – people appreciate honesty and integrity most of all.
